Tallahassee, Fla. – The Everglades Trust (Trust) today released the following statement, attributed to its CEO Anna Upton, thanking the Florida Legislature for crafting and passing a fiscal year 2024-25 budget that provides over $740 million for Everglades restoration.
“Each year, this Legislature allocates funds to protect the Everglades and for Everglades restoration. This will help continue those efforts,” said Coral Gables Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera.
Calling it the “largest and most significant restoration effort in all of the United States of America,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis visited Palm Beach County on Thursday to announce a “huge step forward” for Everglades restoration.
